Meet the people behind the projects

John has worked with JHA Ltd since 2003. John is a Chartered Architectural Technologist MCIAT and is also a registered member of the Association of Project Safety.

John is the Managing Director of the Practice and the Principal Designer for JHA Ltd. John has extensive design experience in large commercial and industrial schemes, together with office and clerical buildings, conservation, social housing, and private residential projects.

Matthew has worked with the practice since 2010 and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). As Associate Director, Matt heads JHA Architecture's Doncaster Head Office as well as overseeing all project delivery and supporting the continued growth of the practice in our 3 regions. He qualified in 2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology and has since gained extensive experience delivering construction projects across the commercial, healthcare, disability and industrial sectors. As a Design Team Leader and Contract Administrator, Matthew manages projects from initial briefing through to completion on site. He is experienced in administering JCT contracts, ensuring projects remain compliant with both design and contractual requirements. His skills include developing concept designs, coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, and liaising effectively with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities.

Christopher joined the practice in June 2019 as a Chartered RIBA Architect. Since qualifying as an Architect in 2014, Christopher has gained extensive experience across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, education, accessible living, residential, commercial and ecclesiastical projects, working with both public and private clients. As a RIBA Chartered Project Architect and the practice BIM Manager, Christopher has a strong interest in modern architecture and emerging technologies and is a passionate advocate for the effective use of BIM and digital design processes within architecture. He is committed to transforming design concepts into functional, well-considered spaces, working across both 2D and 3D BIM environments. His involvement in projects of varying scale and complexity has enabled him to develop a versatile and well-rounded skillset that can be applied across a diverse range of schemes.

David has worked with the practice since 2004 and is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. He has extensive experience as a Design Team Leader and Contract Administrator across healthcare, education, and commercial projects, with particular expertise in large-scale adaptations and new-build properties for people with disabilities. David takes the lead in managing projects from inception to completion, involving creation of the initial design, coordination of the design team & specialist consultants, ensuring compliance with statutory & environmental requirements, through to monitoring of the construction phase and contractual arrangements. His strong technical knowledge enables him to deliver practical design solutions to suit the individual needs of each project. As a senior manager David is committed to training upcoming members of the team, and can draw upon the resources of JHA Architecture’s multiple offices as required.

Jordan joined the practice in February 2024 as a Chartered Architect and heads JHA Architecture's Manchester office. Prior to joining the practice, he had gained experience across the residential, retail and industrial sectors, delivering projects through all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work and utilising a skill set that encompasses both design and building technologies. As a Chartered Architect, Jordan has a particular interest in mid-century modern architecture and sustainable technologies and is continuously exploring how innovative, sustainable solutions can be incorporated into our designs in a practical and functional way.

Brendan has been with the practice since 2015 and is a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT). Beginning his career as a Trainee Architectural Technician, he progressed through further education, achieving an HNC in Construction and the Built Environment before graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a First Class Honours Degree in Architectural Technology. More recently, Brendan attained Chartered status with CIAT. Throughout his career, Brendan has contributed to a wide range of private and public sector projects, supporting schemes from initial concept through to completion. As a Chartered Architectural Technologist, he works closely with colleagues across the practice, sharing his technical expertise and mentoring team members. Brendan has a strong passion for modern architectural design and continues to develop his knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and professional development.

Jack joined the JHA team in 2020 after graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in Architectural Technology. He is ACIAT accredited and is currently working towards growing our Birmingham office and achieving MCIAT status. Jack now heads JHA Architecture's Birmingham office, leading the delivery of projects across the industrial, commercial, education and high-end residential sectors. He is highly proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM workflows and 3D visualisation, with particular expertise in 3D modelling, coordination and the integration of design information. His technical knowledge and collaborative approach enable him to develop practical, well-considered design solutions from concept through to completion, while supporting clients and project teams throughout every stage of the design process.

Bradley has worked with the practice since 2016 and is a key member of the team, supporting and mentoring junior staff. Since qualifying as a Part I Architectural Assistant, he has gained valuable experience leading design teams and delivering high-quality projects, with a particular focus on commercial developments. Bradley manages projects from the initial design briefing through to completion on site, contributing across all project stages. His involvement in a wide range of commercial schemes, both large and small, has enabled him to develop a broad and adaptable skillset. He has a strong interest in modern architecture and works in both 2D and 3D BIM environments to develop practical, functional designs.

Jack joined the JHA Pulmann branch in early 2023 as a Part I Architectural Assistant after studying Architecture at Northumbria University, Newcastle. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in adaptive reuse architecture and explored sustainable design approaches. Prior to joining the practice, Jack gained experience in the property development sector, developing skills in BIM and CAD software. He also previously worked as a kitchen designer, which helped build his understanding of design and client requirements. At JHA Pulmann, Jack works closely with senior architects to further develop his professional skills and hopes to complete his master's degree in Architecture and become an RIBA Chartered Architect.

Cai joined the team in 2021 as an apprentice supporting the practice’s senior architects and has since progressed into the role of Architectural Assistant. He plays an active role in the day-to-day running and management of projects under the guidance of senior team members. Cai is currently studying for his Part I in Architecture at university and has a strong passion for the profession. He has working knowledge of CAD and BIM software, including Revit and Enscape, which he uses to produce drawings and high-quality visualisations while continuing to build experience within the practice.

Becki joined the team in March 2024 as an Architectural Technician following a career change and the completion of a HNC Level 4 in Construction and the Built Environment at Gateshead College. She has a strong interest in sustainability, BIM and the Net Zero agenda and in September 2025, Becki showed her commitment to her professional development by starting a part-time MSc in BIM and Collaborative Practice, at Derby University, further developing her up-to-date knowledge of the Construction Industry and developing her skills in Revit and IESVE sustainability simulation software. With over 20 years of experience in the education sector, Becki brings a diverse skill set to the team and continues to contribute across all RIBA Stages and is working towards her goal of becoming a Chartered Architectural Technologist.

Annalise joined the team in September 2026 as a Junior Architectural Techician, undertaking her university placement year as part of her Architectural Technology degree at Leeds Beckett University. With a strong interest in the construction and the built environment , she is developing her knowledge and practical experience within the JHA team. She is particularly keen to further develop her skills in Revit, AutoCAD and BIM softwares, whilst developing her understanding of the architectural process, gaining valuable experience working on live projects and working alongside the team. Annalise is looking forward to further developing her technical knowledge and professional skills as she progresses her career within the industry.

Joe joined the team as an apprentice and is keen to develop his skills within the architectural profession. Working closely with the practice’s Architectural Technologists, he is gaining valuable experience and learning about the design and construction process. He is developing his knowledge of industry software, including Revit and AutoCAD, and looks forward to applying these skills within the JHA team. At the beginning of his career, Joe is motivated to achieve his qualifications and continue progressing within the profession, with the long-term goal of becoming an Architect while contributing to a more sustainable built environment.

Chris joined the practice in 2025 as an Architectural Assistant. He holds a BSc in Architecture from Sheffield Hallam University and is currently studying MSc Collaborative Practice at the University of Sheffield alongside work. Chris has experience working across the Residential, Commercial and Care sectors. Chris has developed expertise in BIM Modelling and Visualisation, contributing to projects from initial concept stages through to project completion. He works closely with colleagues, clients, and consultants to help deliver well-considered design solutions. Outside of work, Chris enjoys bouldering, running and cooking, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to both professional and personal pursuits.

Gary Church joined JHA Architecture as a Business Development Consultant, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a qualified Architect and extensive knowledge of the built environment sector. Gary works closely with clients, consultants and professional contacts across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting JHA’s continued growth and development in the region. He assists with developing new client relationships, responding to new business enquiries and identifying opportunities for the practice. His architectural background and understanding of the design and construction process enable him to build strong, professional relationships with clients and help connect their requirements with JHA’s expertise and services. Gary plays an important role in strengthening JHA’s presence in Birmingham and supporting the practice’s ongoing business development and client relationships.

Carol is the Accounts Manager at JHA Ltd and is responsible for the practice’s general financial management. Her role includes overseeing day-to-day accounts, maintaining financial records, and supporting the smooth financial operation of the business. Carol is experienced in using accounting software, including Sage and Access, which enables her to manage financial processes efficiently and accurately while supporting the wider team.

Jake has recently begun an apprenticeship working towards his AAT qualification, marking the start of his career in accounting. While early in his professional journey, he is developing the core skills required to support a range of accounting functions within the team. His responsibilities include assisting with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and general finance administration while working in line with industry standards. Through his apprenticeship, Jake is gaining valuable practical experience and building a strong foundation in accounting, and he looks forward to continuing to develop his knowledge and contribute to the finance team.
