Client: Thorne Moorends Town Council
JHA Architecture were appointed as project managers, contract administrators and procurement consultants by Thorne Moorends Town Council to support the delivery of a new play scheme at Moorend Welfare Ground.
The completed project enhances local community facilities through a varied and accessible outdoor play environment, providing dedicated areas for toddlers, juniors, teenagers and more adventurous users.

Design and Delivery Approach
The scheme was delivered with a clear focus on creating a practical, engaging and robust community facility. JHA Architecture supported the client through the management, procurement and contract administration stages, helping to coordinate the process from appointment through to completion.
The play areas were arranged to offer a balanced mix of activities, with distinct provision for younger children, older children and teenagers, alongside BMX facilities for users seeking a more active and challenging outdoor experience.

The project has strengthened the recreational offer at Moorend Welfare Ground, giving families and young people a refreshed outdoor destination for play, activity and social interaction.
