ED MILIBAND OPENS UK'S FIRST REFOOD ANAEROBIC ..
POSTED: 22 September 2011.
Construction Work on the £12 million plant is now complete and officially opened by the Rt Hon Ed Miliband on the 9th September 2011. The plant is the first ReFood UK site in the country and is based at the PDM Group headquarters in Doncaster. The new development has created 35 jobs and the recycling of the food waste in sealed containers will generate 2.8MW/h of electricity and heat which will be capable of supplying green energy to 5,000 homes and, as a by-product, produces 40,000 tonnes of fertilizer which will be used by local farmers. The development will prevent 45,000 tonnes of food waste being taken to landfill every year. Directors of Prosper de Mulder Group with the Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP
