Summary Client: Thorne Moorends Town Council Principal Contractor: Watfords of Wombwell Ltd Project Cost: £822,000.00 plus VAT Timescale: 28 weeks Brief To provide new changing facilities and a community social centre within the confines of an existing playing field. Proposals The site accommodates three full sized football pitches and a junior pitch, and is well used by the local amateur football clubs, with in excess of 24 teams playing at weekends. It is also used for training during the week. Existing changing facilities were very basic, and following receipt of some external funding from the Football Foundation and Coalfields Regeneration Trust, the Town Council appointed John Hill Associates Ltd to provide the design and contract administration services for the project. The proposals included for six team changing rooms designed to Sport England guidelines, along with two Referees' Changing Rooms. In addition, a large function room and kitchen were incorporated for use by the football club and the wider community .
