Summary Client: Mr & Mrs Alcock Principal Contractor: G Wilkinson Construction Ltd Project Cost: £210,000.00 Timescale: 26 weeks Proposals The Client required additional accommodation for his family above and beyond what the farmhouse could provide. The property was no longer a working farm and the general utility buildings attached were surplus to requirements. These consisted of a semi derelict barn and stables. The proposal was to demolish the farm buildings whilst retaining the farmhouse. This would then be extended in the style of the farmhouse to provide additional bedrooms, living space and Office / Gymnasium. The farmhouse was refurbished at the same time and new dormers added to both sections of the building group. In order to maintain the previous looks of the building mass, the larger two storey extension was separated from the existing house by a one and a half storey link block, thus replicating the mass of the previous barn.
